Early Rivers is a traditional English dark red cherry variety, raised by the famous Rivers Nursery in Hertfordshire in the 1860s.
The flavour is very good, and this is one of the earliest cherries available, ripening in early June in the south of England.

Delivery period: Pot-grown trees can be delivered from September onwards. Bare-root trees can be delivered from mid-November onwards. Within those periods you can specify your preferred month of delivery during the checkout process. It is best to order as soon as you can to ensure items are reserved for you.

Early Rivers is self-sterile and needs to be pollinated by another tree of a different variety nearby.

Early Rivers is a useful variety because it is very early ripening. However it flowers early and needs another compatible early-flowering variety to pollinate it. Merton Glory is a good choice.
