Pollination guide for Yellow Huffcap

Yellow Huffcap is in flowering group 3. Yellow Huffcap is self-sterile and needs to be pollinated by another tree of a different variety nearby. Since it flowers in the middle of the blossom season it can be pollinated by most other perry pear trees.

How to grow Yellow Huffcap perry pear trees

Unlike most perry varieties, Yellow Huffcap pears will hang on the tree and become over-ripe, so must either be picked or shaken to the ground.

Yellow Huffcap is heavy-cropping but has a tendency to lapse into biennial bearing. Thin the fruitlets in June to prevent this.
