'Jermyns' is one of the best forms of the popular Himalayan birch Betula utilis jacquemontii, growing vigorously and featuring a bright white stem.
The large catkins are also characteristic of this variety.
The white stem which is the key feature of this form of Betula utilis jacquemontii only becomes apparent as the tree matures.
Betula utilis jacquemontii 'Jermyns' was identified as a new variety at the Hillier Nursery in Hampshire, UK, in the 1960s, having been imported from a Belgian nursery.
Unlike many garden centres and online retailers, the vast majority of our fruit trees are grown in the UK. Find out more.
All our trees are certified under the Plant Healthy scheme, supervised by the Plant Health Alliance. Other stakeholders include Defra and the RHS. Find out more.
