All about Pink Perfection flowering cherry trees

If you are looking for a beautiful pink blossom tree for the garden, Pink Perfection should certainly be on your shortlist. The name says it all - the large flowers are a perfect cherry pink.

Its stunning pink blossom display is also unusually long-lasting, beginning towards the end of April and continuing well into May.

The young leaves appear just behind the blossom and initially have a light bronze hue. They turn green over the summer and then take on orange-red tints in the autumn.

Pink Perfection grows with a neat upright-spreading vase-like form, and in time will become a medium-sized tree. (If you don't have the space, have a look at Little Pink Perfection, a naturally dwarf form of Pink Perfection which is only about half as tall).

History

Pink Perfection was developed in the UK but is considered a "Japanese" flowering cherry on account of is probable ancestery - it is thought to be a seedling of Prunus Shogetsu and Prunus Kanzan.
