All about Drummondii maple

Drummondii is a fine example of the Norway Maple, growing quickly into an attractive tree with real presence.

The distinctive feature of Drummondii is the unusual variegation of the leaves, which have a characteristic white margin highlighting the classic pale-green hues for which the Norway Maple is known.

The tree produces small lime green flowers in April, before the leaves emerge, and these mature into characteristic winged seeds in the autumn

In autumn the leaves turn golden in the autumn.

Growing and Training

The variegated leaves are a key characteristic of Drummondii. Occasionally a new shoot will revert to plain green - any such branches should be pruned out.

Like all Norway Maples, Drummondii grows easily in most soils, including poor soils in brownfield sites.
