Dittisham Ploughman is a traditional plum which is found growing around the Dart estuary in southern Devon. The dull red plums are particularly good for jam-making.,

Although this variety may well have been a favourite of agricultural workers in south Devon, it is also possible it has a German origin and that "ploughman" is actually an anglicisation of the German word for plum - "pflaumen".
