Toptaste Kulinaria is a new blue-skinned late-season dessert plum with sweet yellow flesh. The plums have a rich sweet flavour.

It was developed with disease-resistance in mind and has some resistance to plum pox / sharka virus.

Although primarily a variety for eating fresh off the tree, the plums are very useful in the kitchen - pick them slightly under-ripe for best results.

How to grow

Toptaste Kulinaria ripens in mid-August.  It is partially self-fertile so does not need another pollinator, but cropping will be improved if there are other plum trees nearby.

The plums can be picked over an extended period - useful for amateur growers who do not want to deal with a glut of plums all at once.

History

Toptaste Kulinaria won a silver award at the UK Horticultural Trades Association National Plant Show in 2016.
