'Pearls' is a small spreading rowan tree, named after its pearly-white berries. The berries are initially purple in the summer but turn to white as autumn progresses.

The fern-like green leaves are also a particularly attractive of this variety, with the added bonus that they turn purple / red in the autumn.

Overall this is a lovely tree for the smaller garden.

History

'Pearls' belongs to the species Sorbus bissetii., It can be distinguished from other rowan species by its more spreading bushy habit. The species originates in China.
