Felix Jury is an upright flowering cherry tree, typical of the species Prunus campanulata - the Formosan Cherry.
The blossom arrives very early in the spring, and is a deep pink colour, with contrasting golden yellow stamens. It is unusually long-lasting.
Unlike most flowering cherries, the leaves appear at more or less the same time as the blossom - it is often one of the first varieties to show leaves.
After the flowers have finished, the bright red stems of the new leaf shoots help the tree to stand out.
This is an excellent choice for early-spring colour.

The species Prunus campanulata generally prefers a climate which is slightly warmer than we have in the UK. However Felix Jury is one of the hardiest forms of this species and suitable for most areas - but plant in a sheltered spot for best results.
