All about Daikoku flowering cherry trees

Daikoku is a traditional Japanese pink blossom tree, with particularly pretty double flowers.

Viewed close-up the individual petals seem to vary in shade from white to darker pink, which produces a very attractive, almost Impressionist effect when seen from a distance.

History

It is possible that Daikoku has some relation to another well-known Japanese flowering cherry, Pink Perfection, but it is not as well-known.
