Gyoiko is one of a small group of flowering cherry trees where the flowers have a cream or even green tinge, which is accentuated by the light bronze of the fresh new leaves. If you are looking for something different it makes a refreshing change from the more widely-grown pink ornamental cherries.
It grows with an upright then spreading habit, and matures into an attractive medium-sized tree with a pleasing presence.
All our pot-grown trees are grown for us to our specification by the Frank P Matthews nursery.

The best-known of the cream-coloured flowering cherries is Ukon. Gyoiko is probably related to it. It flowers slightly later than Ukon, and is a bit more vigorous in its growth, but with slightly smaller flowers.
