All about Pendula Rubra flowering cherry trees

Pendula Rubra is a classic Japanese weeping cherry tree. The simple pink blossom appears ahead of the leaves.

The tree grows with a distinct weeping habit, but the mature framework branches are usually spreading rather than weeping. When the tree is in blossom in the spring the effect is of a waterfall of pink blossom cascading from the branches.
