Along with Broadview, Buccaneer is one of the best Walnuts for the English climate. Cropping is heavier than Broadview, but the nuts are better suited to cooking and pickling. (For pickling, pick the nuts when young in mid-summer before the shell has fully-formed).
Walnuts grown in the cool climate of the UK are not suitable for drying, and should be eaten fresh or preserved within a few weeks of harvesting.
All pot-grown trees are suitable for planting out in the garden, some are suitable for growing in containers.

Buccanneer is self-fertile so there is no need for another pollinator. It will reach a hight of about 5m+ (17ft) after 10-20 years.
