All about Obelisk amelanchier
Obelisk is one of the most upright forms of Amelanchiers, making it a good choice for the smaller garden, and offering plenty of interest through the seasons.
In spring it features a mass of snow-white blossom, followed by tiny purple-blue fruits. These fruits rich in antioxidants.
The dense foliage is green over the summer, turning yellow in the autumn.
Growing and Training
Obelisk is a small but very upright shrub / tree. It is easy to grow, and prefers moist soils which are neutral or slightly acidic.
It has good resistance to powdery mildew, one of the few infections to which Amelanchiers are sometimes prone.
If left to its own devices it may become multi-stemmed.
History
